*Please note, whilst we can provide items that are dairy and gluten free etc. we are unable to cater for allergies. Traces of allergens may be present in all the items we produce. These may include: EGGS, GLUTEN, MILK, PEANUTS & TREE NUTS, SESAME, SOYBEANS, SULPHUR DIOXIDE AND SULPHITES. Our cakes are produced in a kitchen where CELERY, CRUSTACEANS, FISH, LUPIN, MOLLUSCS AND MUSTARD are used. * By placing an order with us you accept that, if any reaction or illness were to occur as a result, we "Hawthorn House Bakery" cannot be held liable.

Bespoke Celebrations Cakes
- Please contact us with a description of your desired cake for a quote. 2 weeks minimum notice is usually preferred, but not always necessary.
- If you are happy to proceed and we have availability for your chosen date, 50% deposit is due to confirm the order.
- The remaining balance is due 3 days prior to collection or delivery (at an agreed time). An outstanding invoice will be sent to the email provided with the order. It is the responsibility of the person placing the order to update us of any changes. Should the balance not be paid by 5pm on the due date, we will consider the order cancelled.
- Should you need to cancel your order a full refund of the deposit will be issued, less the cost of any items sourced for your order (i.e. toppers etc.) and/or time for any work carried out up to the date you have given us notice. Should the cancellation be less than 7 days before the collection/delivery date the deposit will be nonrefundable. An alternative date or product may be offered subject to availability; however, we cannot guarantee this will be at the same cost due to possible price increases.
- In the unlikely event, we have to cancel the order due to circumstances out of our control an alternative will be offered, or a full refund issued.
Wedding Cakes
- Please contact us so arrangements can be made for a consultation. This can be done up to 1 year in advance.
- Cake taster samples and bespoke flavours available upon request. This will incur a charge that will be taken off the final amount upon confirmation of booking.
- If you are happy to proceed and we have availability for your chosen date, a quote will be sent, along with written T&C’s regarding Wedding Cakes cancellations and alterations. 25% deposit is due to confirm the order and secure the date.
- The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the Wedding Day. If you require a Wedding Cake with less than 4 weeks notice, and we can accommodate this, the full balance becomes due on confirmation of the order.
- All quotes include delivery and set up of the cake. We will happily liaise with florists, venues and wedding coordinators beforehand and on the day, giving you one less thing to worry about.
Cake Design
- Every order is individually handmade so variations may occur between products, including inspiration ideas as each baker has their own style, and this reflected in their work.
- The design of cakes may be subject to minor alterations during production.
- Please consider that colours may differ between screen displays and the finished product, we will do our utmost to match any colours that have been requested, but it is not guaranteed.
Collection & Delivery
- Smaller online purchases, where the delivery option has been chosen are subject to the courier used.
Bespoke Celebration Cakes
- Collection & Delivery times (including set up if required) are made at mutually agreed times.
- Delivery charges are based on the distance (in miles using google maps), peak/off peak times and days. We aim to give an approximate 30 mins slot for local deliveries and up to an hour slot for distances further afield.
- If the agreed collection or delivery slot is missed by you, we will do our best to accommodate but may be subject to an extra charge dependant on the availability and/or location.
- If you are collecting your cake, please ensure to travel with it in on a flat surface in the boot of the car or footwell (without the heater turned on). Try to keep the cake as cool as possible. It is not recommended that cakes are put on a seat or a passenger knee as the angle can cause damage to the cake. Avoid braking hard and bumps! Once the cake has left our care, it becomes the responsibility of the customer.
- Upon cake collection or delivery, customers will be asked to inspect their product and sign to confirm they are happy with their order e.g. size, design, wording, condition and quality. Any issues must be communicated within 24 hours from receipt with images as supporting evidence.
Wedding Cakes
- All Wedding Cakes include delivery and set up on the morning or afternoon of the Wedding (as appropriate) in the final quote unless stated or requested.
- Hawthorn House Bakery will liaise with the wedding coordinator at the venue, on the agreed date and time.
Cake Storage and Cutting
- Cake Care and/or cutting guides are provided with our Celebration Cakes.
- Some cakes depending on decoration, may contain inedible items. Figures or flowers may contain wire and tiered cake will have dowels. These should be removed before cutting and consuming.
- Best eaten on the day, but unless otherwise stated our celebration cakes carry a best before of 3 days if stored correctly. Cupcakes 1 day.
By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions, you will take all appropriate action to follow our cake care guidelines. Hawthorn House Bakery will not be held responsible for issues arising from the guidelines not being correctly followed. For example: exposure to warm temperatures for too long (buttercream or icing may melt) or being consumed too cold (cake may appear dense or dry).
Cake & Treat Complaints

We will ask that you return the product to us for inspection or provide photographic evidence within 24 hours from receipt of the order. Or in the event of an issue arising at the time of the cake being served, all details must be emailed within 48-hours of receipt.
- Please note that we are not able to offer any refunds without proof of evidence.

Images & Copyright
We reserve the right to photograph any of the orders we produce to use for marketing purposes, including but not limited to our websites, social media, email campaigns, affiliates and partners. The images on this website are subject to copyright and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without our prior permission.
Privacy Policy
Your GDPR rights are not affected. Any personal information is only collected so we can fulfil your order and send you details of special offers or newsletters should you chose to receive them. You can opt in or out of receiving these at any time. Cookies are used on this website for analytical purposes only and your personal details will not be shared with 3rd parties.
We reserve the right to update and change our Terms and Conditions as and when required. Any clients with outstanding orders will be notified by email to any changes.
